By what time should I fly to Canada.?

Session starts on 2nd September. I was thinking of going on 23rd August to Montreal..

hello evry 1 . i jst want to knw dat i already have a tourist visa of canada valid till 2016 may .
n now i have applied for study permit in pg course on 17 july under spp from vfs chd .
i applied as result awaited of my mba last sem . i have attached all 3 sem results . can anyone tell me dat applying wid awaited result can create a problem .? coz my result will be out by the end of august . and i want to go for sep intake .
please help .

I have to book flight from Delhi to Montreal on 22nd Aug and since there are no direct flights there will be stopover in Chicago or New York. Will I need a transit visa for my journey?
