So just to clarify you lost your passport, applied for a new passport and then applied for a new study permit from scratch instead of investigating if you could transfer the document to the new passport ?
Where are you applying from ? Have you even checked the processing times on the CIC website ?

There was no need to do this. You should have just contacted the visa office and informed them of what happened.

Lot of applicants have the same problem. They have been doing this for the last more than 10 months now. Nobody knows why they would behave like this.
Yes i paid again... bt i got approval from them first. Unfortunately my passport was missing somewhere. Dats why i had applied again.
This is really sad that they asked you to apply again. People loose passports and sometimes they renew it too. That does not mean that they ask you to follow the entire process again.
