I was planning to apply for a student visa and wanted to take my partner as an OWP, but I have some concerns with regards to our status. We were both married to our previous partners but separated, although not legally yet, and we have been together for 7 years now. I was married to a Filipino who happens to be a Canadian citizen, but our marriage failed before we got the chance to process my spousal visa. So my questions are:

- If I am going to apply for a student visa, will it affect my application since I was married to a Canadian citizen?
- Will it also affect me if the time comes when I need to apply for a PR?
- Can I apply for an OWP for my partner if we can provide all of the necessary requirements to prove the legitimacy of our relationship?
