student visa- they asked me for my CV!!

so today after 7 weeks of applying to get a student visa for january intake to the London office, the case officer emailed me requiring my latest CV!!!
Anyone could please guess why he needs this for?!!!
information regarding education and work experience is already in 'application for study' form. I'm scratching my head wondering why they need my CV. I sent them my CV, nevertheless.

Can't say anything. Might be they want to crosscheck or verify your experiences, education, etc with respect to the dates, order, etc...
It's a wild guess. You just can't say anything that they were wanting it for this specific reason.

I hope so! what do you know about the processing time? Do they stand by it when they say it takes 7 weeks. this is the 7th week already.

Hi

Can you please share your profile. Have you applied for a postgraduate or undergraduate course? This maybe a reason as to why they are requesting your CV. They may want to check your employment history etc if you are applying for an MBA. However I do find it strange as to why they have requested your CV.
I have also applied online on 7 October from the UK so I am guessing they are taking 7 weeks to process applications. Some people have said they received their visas in 11-12 days.

it's a postgraduate. a PhD I received my master's degree 2 years ago and been working ever since. my master's is in Materials Science and so is the intended PhD program. It can't get any more similar. Information about Education (master's level) and work Employment, however, are included in 'application for study' form. This's left me baffled as what are they looking for!! They can only find my expertise, extra curricular activities, skills, and my bachelor's degree information in my CV. I don't like things that I don't understand! :-\

It does really seem strange as to why they have asked for your CV. It is probably the first time I have heard a CV to have been requested..especially since you have already been accepted into a PHD programme.

Are you a citizen of England? I have noticed that they seem to be more inquisitive with people of different nationalities.

Definitely keep us updated, Hopefully you will receive the visa ASAP.

I'm an Iranian citizen and have lived in Europe for 5 years now. currently working in a field related to my studies. well, as you mentioned maybe my nationality's pique their curiosity.
anyhow, I hope it all goes good. There's mass of things I need to sort out before leaving Europe for four years. fingers crossed

wow its been 13 weeks

have you tried emailing them to ask the status? i emailed yesterday as its been 8 weeks and just wanted to enquire if there is any possibility that i would hear before the start date of my classes. i got an email response saying that my file is currently under final review and they hope to provide me with a decision soon.
