Then you should consider bachelors degree if funding is available. I dont see how you overcome “academic progression” concern. You need to have IT background to understand the difference which unfortunately VO may lack. Its like BBA and B.Com Business Management…
I dont really mind doing a bachelor's degree. But the thing is, I'm currently 25. By the time i finish my bachelor's degree i will be 29, entering my thirties, which is not a good look for a person who wants to start at an entry level job in IT. So a two year program suits me best. I just need to know that in order to be accepted, Would the course i selected be still viable, or do i have to change it anyhow.

If you can show the VO that there are more opportunities in your home country for programmers (web development, mobile app, applications development, etc), you can easily justify the switch from systems to software. And with a prior background in systems, you can easily transition into the software development side (or what me and my classmates at Durham College call as the “dark side”). But be prepared for a lot of math as well in programming (some courses may require you to create a fully functional game as a final project).

So, your previous IT education is not a bachelor? The difference between a diploma and an advance diploma is that the former is a two year program while the later is a three year program.
Thank you for your reply, it is informative. I dont think there are any less opportunities in india especially for programmers, given that most companies abroad hire from here. So basically i need to create an SOP which explains my transition from systems and servers to programming i suppose. So, i understand the difference of the time period, but what about the importance. Which one would the VO consider to be more serious.. if i was pursuing an advanced one(3 yrs), or a normal one.. (2 yrs).

I think you’d have a better chance with the advance diploma. That is, if you don’t want to consider a bachelors program. Just my opinion, though.

My problem here is.. I researched a lot of bachelor IT courses. Some of them i like alot.
They have requirements though, mostly in math. And also i would like to mostly go in the September intake this year.. if i start applying to other courses while trying to refund my programming course i paid for.. i highly doubt i could go for the sept intake.. maybe January. But even then, i have to keep waiting in anticipation, and i think once i change my degree and college from the ones i applied for, it would be a completely new application.

If you fully change the application significantly, such as changing your qualification level to bachelors, would they not see through it as a means to just obtain a visa?

If I were you, I’d rather play it safe than rush things. Better to lodge a near perfect application than a haphazardly put together application.

And if you really want to learn programming, you definitely need math. There’s just no work around it.

A bachelor is a higher program than an diploma. The VO would be more inclined to think you’re just after a visa with a lower program.

Understood.. but i meant in the requirements.. as in dont most bachelor's degrees require a grade 12 math score higher than a certain amount. I never had math after grade 10, So I am not sure.
I am not Rushing but i am very confused between two things, Weather to justify my programming course and my reasons to select it, or rather just do an overhaul, such as changing the qualification completely, such as a bachelor's one.

Have you tried contacting universities with their requirements? Just a piece of advise, if you are so concerned with math, you’re going to struggle in programming. So, put that into consideration.

I am not concerned with math in general, i am concerned that the university/college require that as a prerequisite in grade 12, whereas i didnt even have math in grade 12, or my new zealand qualification. The main question is my eligibility, so that i may request an offer letter from them.

Well, you did have math in systems, didn’t you? I presume you had networking courses? Subnetting calculations? Hex and binary conversions?

The difference is 1 year. Whether you graduate when you are 28 or 29 doesnt make a difference. I dont see any problem starting entry level at 29, No one will descriminate you because of age, they want your talent…Of course if i were you, i dont want to do a diploma, finish at 28 and then in future do a degree??? Some companies including the one i work with has their promotion tied to your qualification…

Now if you have been refused because of the choice of study program, you need to consider all the advices including enrolling in a program higher than diploma to increase your chances when you re-apply?

Then you need to be flexible with all these dynamics. All the best

I did all of that. I am okay in math.. not the best, but not bad either. The thing is, the eligibility criteria in order to receive an unconditional offer letter from the college/university. My point here is i dont want to waste months on a college/university where they won't even give me an offer letter...

I am fine to be flexible.. i am okay to wait. The problem here is i do not want institutions to say that i cant get their offer at all because of their one or the other requirement in a subject you did in your 12th grade
