Hey All
hope all of you guys are doing well.i am asking this on behalf of my cousin.his son applied for study permit and last week it was rejected.the only reason given by visa officer was,i am not satisfied that you will return back after your studies".
country of origin pakistan and visa processing centre,Abu Dhabi.
our question is if we apply again how can we satisfy that objection, because there is a possibility that they will put the same reason.
need members feed back.if you need more questions for clarification please feel free to ask.
thanks

ensure you know the specific reasons for rejection so you dont repeat same mistake. i think there's a form you can fill to get details of the rejection reasons.

generally, you want to show that you will return to your country after completing your study - you need to show your economic and social ties to your country. without these it is difficult to convince officers you will leave Canada. Good luck.

thanks.
what documents would you suggest to be submitted next time to counter this argument

as per evidence for social/economic ties, landed properties, rent receipts (if a home owner), business certificate/registration of business,

social - if some people -e.g. siblings - depend on you for financial assistance, mention it and include evidence if possible.

if married, include your marriage certificate. if not married, I would include evidence of my relationship etc - like photos. sounds funny but they help

if employed, get a letter from your employer -it's always helpful - if you will be returning to your position - to get a letter confirming your return.

you may not however, have all these evidence, so writing to explain your plans after coming completing your course is always helpful. of course plans may change such that you need up getting a permanent residency in Canada.

be honest and provide all details you can.

you should show how your proposed program connects with past education or knowledge. Given that the program will likely be offered in your country or elsewhere, why Canada and not your country or elsewhere....

All said, remember those making visa decisions are human beings like you, so if your reasons are compelling, even if refusal is the most likely decision based on paper rule, your story and how you present it might work for you - that's my belief anyways. Lots to say.... for example if you have won scholarships in the past, tell them you have a lots to offer and you believe your program will empower you to contribute to global problem? as a young scholar in your field, etc

Good luck.

one more question once the medical is done is it valid for a year or every time you're required to do a fresh medical.like I did medical in May this year is it still valid for Jan 18 intake if I apply again in September

I paid full year tution fees. Moving ahead to medical , i think it is valid for 1 year so you don't need to do it again

not sure if this applies in the case of Canada, when I first applied for a UK visa few years back, I didn't reapply but wrote a letter to address those reasons and I was subsequently approved!

if there's no such mechanism in your case for Canadian visa, I ensure you address the refusal reason(s) they mentioned so they don't come back to hunt.

always remember, decisions can be subjective - because it is a human being like you devising YES or NO. Pray for a better luck....
