STUDENT VISA REFUSED OVER NBI CLEARANCE

I hope someone can help me.

I recently applied for a student visa, and prepared everything included in the checklist. I was asked to do my medical a few days later. And just today, I received a heartbreaking email that my application was refused due to lack of NBI clearance. First, the NBI clearance wasn't indicated in the checklist. According to the website, police certificates can be asked by the officer as additional documents for temporary entry. However, I didn't receive such request, and the application was simple refused.

Is there any way to fix this? My classes are in September already!

which visa office did you submit applications to? Through online or paper based?

Hi Yerik, thanks for your response. I submitted online. There wasn't any slot there too. My sister, who studied in Canada as well, wasn't asked for an NBI either.

That's strange coz I think if they need it then they will notify you via online. Is this the only reason of refusal? And do you go to College or University in Canada? Degree or Diploma? probably NBI is just one of these reasons?

That's the only reason they indicated. I have everything ready: tuition fee is paid, strong financial proof (c/o my father as sponsor), I have a place to stay in CA. This is why it's all the more frustrating.

I would think at present the best choice is to re-apply with your NBI clearance ready. You could wait for other responses in the forum. I thought the best suggestions could come from who submitted applications in Philippines. Specific requirements vary among countries.

Hi suakerock! Sorry to hear about the refusal. My suggestion is for you to get your NBI Clearance asap as it could take 2 weeks if you got "hit" and re-apply for your SP. State in your SOP that you already attached your NBI Clearance in your application this time since it is the reason you were denied visa the first time you applied. Good luck to us.
