I didn't expect to see many other Dominican applicants. Submitted an application for my nephew and biometrics updated Oct 14th - was requested to do medical exam last week and they just showed as medical approved today. What are your timelines? I read somewhere Dominican student visas historically have a 50/50 chance of approval/rejection but the numbers are different depending the age - we applied for high school for my nephew which I read internationally have an average 80% approval...

High school in the Ottawa Catholic School Board - normally high school has a higher rate of approvals I think - that may be why he was reviewed so fast - but I saw the average application time went from 13 weeks to 12 weeks and now says 9 weeks - since it is so short now compared to what it used to be you should hear an answer soon. If you don't I would follow up with a webform (I don't know how to do that) but if you are at 10 weeks and the average is 9 - you are allowed to follow up.

I’m basically waiting for the 12th week since that’s the timeframe for SOWP but I really hope to hear from them soon. Also, can you please update me on how much longer it took to receive PPR after medical were updated?

Here’s my timeline for Student Visa from Santo Domingo:

Submitted Oct 19
Biometrics completed Oct 21
Medicals requested Dec 14
Medicals done Dec 16 - still waiting for approval.

@jorgonzales any updates on yours?
No update either, I also got medical request on the 14th and got them done on the 16th. What intake are you supposed to start?

Medicals passed Dec 22. Ghost update, no email.
Hopefully there’s a decision coming soon. Since my application is being processed thru IRCC lawyers I don’t know if I received an update regarding medical but I’ll check with them. Please keep posting your timeline for reference. I’ll let you know if I get news.

Are the properties in your name? How old are you if using brother’s assets? His assets are not your ties.
