Student Visa or Permit extending apply?

Hello all,

My friend has an expired Canadian visa, her Student Permit is only valid until the end of January 2020. Can she extend both at the same time?

Please advise.

If she is in Canada then get study permit first then TRV, 2 separate applications. If outside Canada & they apply for sp extension then they will get both.

Her study permit will be expired at the end of Jan.2020. Her visa already expired in Sept.2018.
Will it be ok to extend both? Any penalty for her? Please help...

She needs to extend the study permit before it expires, probably should have applied 3 months ago, it can take a long time. The procedure is as above, you need study permit to apply for TRV in Canada. TRV is only to travel into Canada so no issue with it being expired.
