the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). What program did you apply for? And how long is the program for?
Canada expects you to show enough funds for 1 year of study + 1 year living expenses.

How much do you suggest I should use to prove adequate finances?

Provide a clear estimate of your expenses in Canada, how much you're spending on rent, how much is the food and living supplies cost in Canada, taxes, fees, transport, etc. Do you know how much all of that cost? Then prove the amount on your application the you have the money to cover those expenses.

Can I do a GIC with RBC bank?

I was coming alone and its surprising the application was declined.

It's not actually. The refusal was expected.

You need to show that you have enough money to cover first year tuition + $10K for living expenses.

You paid first semester fees and showed the $10K. This isn't enough to cover your full first year costs.
