I think the main thing is to have all the bases covered, and hit them with everything you've got so that they can't possibly come up with any reasons for refusal. Wasishah on this forum posted the list of reasons for which people's Study Permits usually get refused:

Just go over this list and make sure you don't give them any reasons to tick any of these things.

Looking at your case again, to be honest, they might have wondered how this Digital Media program is different from the Multimedia Arts program at NCA that you already did. This kind of stuff leads them to question whether someone is a bona fide student or not. Did you explain the differences on your SOP?

A friend of mine had applied for an MBA at UCalgary. He attached the brochures for the MBA programs at LUMS and IBA and explained very clearly what courses the Canadian program offered that the LUMS and IBA programs in Pakistan didn't. You need to explain to them what the program means for your education and career.

Unfortunately I did not elaborate how multimedia is going to be different from digital media. There are certain differences between the both and no institute in Pakistan currently offers a post graduate degree for digital media.

Next time I'm going to include all points. While I was reading your SOP, i noticed you're quite direct unlike me. Actually my SOP is the one I wrote for the Canadian school and I had no plan to send it to CHC till the Gerry said it is required when I went to submit my application so it is not customly written for the embassy for sure.

Yeah, I just sent you some comments on the SOP. You have to be totally direct, hard-hitting -- hit the bureaucrats with a dose of their own medicine, I say!

they replied me today that its finalized and documents would be sent in coming days.

i didnt submit any statement of purpose.is that a problem?
i am so tensed now after reading all this.
i am currently half way through my degree in canada,is there a chance they could refuse.Its my 3rd application,first 2 were excepted.

Everything depends on where you applied from. Applicants from Pakistan face some of the harshest restrictions so we have to make very strong cases for why we need Study Permits for Canada.

I received the same reply on Saturday 13th Aug . . still waiting for the call
a person applied on same date after me on 11th June 2011 has received his document on 13th August and I am still waiting for my turn . . :s

thanks, I am taking in account quite many options and possibilities for me. life doesn't end with Canadian Visa refusal. I am not dishearten ... but little disappointed for the time being because the time, effort and money it took went wasted.

Hey malik, I don't understand when you are half way through with your course in Canada why can't u simply get the study permit renewed from Canada? Why do you have to apply from scratch for the visa ?

Very sad to heard.........but don't lose hope, inshallallah in future u will get it....
