Hi! I am currently working on my student visa application from the Philippines. My partner and I plan to get married after my Visa application. If my Visa gets approved, can I declare my marriage afterwards, and can my husband then apply for a work permit in Canada? Thanks for helping out! The agency we are with suggested this process. Would just want to confirm if this is best path to take then?

If you get married while your application is in process then you have to inform IRCC so they can update your marital status.

You do not need a paper to show that X person is your partner, If you can proof that you have lived with him between the last 12 months, he would apply as your common law partner and apply for an OWP and TRV
