Student visa application in London

Applied on 03/03/2014- Online while studying on a student visa in London (UK). Now I am moving to a third country (other than home country and UK). Got sound profile and genuinely studied in UK and moving reason is decent increment in costs. Now came to know that applying from London can be frustrating as it might take ages since in my home country getting student visa is really fast and usually approved in 10 days. Want to know your views, experiences on applying from London plus how long it might take.
