Hi,
This isn't a problem for the permit acceptance, But regarding the medical insurance, she may not be covered. The international student services McGill university are stating that students and spouses will not be medically cover for maternity if student or spouse are pregnant before landing in Canada. Sorry and hope this helps.

If you have to pay for the pregnancy and delivery yourself, I would budget $7K to $10K - although it could be more if there are complictions. If you want to lower the costs, you can have the birth at home with a midwife.

No insurance company will cover the costs of a pregnancy. It's classified as a pre-existing condition.
