I applied under General (VFS- HYD) on 24-06-2013 and got Study Permit approval email on 28-06-2013.

Nitin dude, is it necessary that 1 should receive email of approval beforere dispatch if ur bisa is approved? , others also reply plzz

No email confirmation is not necessary before passport dispatched. In this forum 3-4 Indian students got visa without confirmation.

dipta is absolutely correct. I heard that few students got visa without study permit approval email.
I received the email and then the visa, however.
