Student Permit Extension

Hi Friends

I had applied online for Study Permit Extension on 1st March, 2017. Website is showing they are processing now
application received on 18 February. Processing time is 47 days. But its over 47 days since I applied.

Is anyone else facing this delay ?

I am completing my exams on 22nd April and I have a flight on 23rd April back to my country. I seem to
have no choice but to rebook my flight to later date.
Does anyone have idea how long will it take to get Study Permit Extension once its approved and from
where will I get this Study permit Extension ? I am studying in Mississauga.
Do I have to apply for TRV also after getting Study permit extension ?
This total process will take how long ?
If someone can give idea I can rebook my tickets accordingly.

1. Fyi, it's not a processing time but the average processing time of 80 percent of applications.
2. Yes, you will have to apply for TRV after your permit extension.
3. You will get permit by mail.

I am staying in campus now and I will have to vacate my room
on 23rd April. After 23rd April I will have to shift to alternate accomodation.

So if Study Permit is sent by post/courier than I must change my
address ? or will the university receive on my behalf ?

Where do I apply TRV ? Can i apply in Mississauga CIC ?

if you do not get the study permit by 23rd of April, you would need to have the address updated in your Study permit extension application. You can do that by two ways.

1) Submit a case specific inquiry by selecting the "Address Change" option.
2) OR call IRCC care rep, they can as well update the mailing address on your application.

Regarding TRV, you can apply online after you get the study permit extended. It goes to CPC-Ottawa (when i had applied).

Thanks macIndia for your reply.

My university says no need to change the address. When they receive my study permit
they will inform me even if I am not staying in campus. I can collect the package
and apply for TRV.

How much time approx will need for TRV ?

If you apply in Canada it's usually super fast, they got approved in 7 days! I also applied for study permit extension, would you mind posting here if your application get approved ? Thanks!

of 17th Feb., 2017.

They are processing the application on 18th of Feb when they updated the website which is 7th of April, so I think your sp extension will be approved soon! I applied on 14th of March, don't think i can get it before i go back to my home country, really worried now!

They have not updated since April 7th. Dont know whats happening. I didnt expect it will
take this long.

I checked with my home country VFS and they say once SP is on hand, i can fly back home
and apply for TRV from my home country. You may do the same.

I think it will be about 12th May you can expect answer. Plus calculate 6-7 days
for Study Permit Extension to reach you by mail.

TRV will take further about 10-12 days more in total.

Plan your trip accordingly.

When i got study permit then may i apply for TRV?
No plan for going to india at least one year ..
When i plan for india at that time i will apply for TRV?

Yes, after you get your sp you can use it to apply for TRV, which is really fast to get, you should apply asap after you get your sp
