student permit extension and applying for pgwp

hi, my name is Hussan and I just finished college, and right before my courses were done my student permit was expired on 31st March 2020, and my studies got done on 30th April 2020. So, I applied for a study permit extension on 22nd February 2020. however, on the website it is still showing your application is under process, so what should I do now should I wait for my student permit extension or apply for the post-graduate work permit? please help me ASAP.

Hi did you end up applying for the PGWP under implied status?

Hey I am in the same situation my Student Permit expires September 21st 2020. I applied for an extension on July 6th 2020 and still haven’t received any update on my application. Once my study permit expires I will be on implied status but I have read and been informed that if we apply for PGWP on implied status we aren’t allowed to work until a decision is made. Now I am concerned that if the Student permit doesn’t come in time I won’t be able to work at all until it does come and then I will be able to apply for PGWP once the permit is Valid again. It’s been a tough challenge due to their unwanted delay because of COVID-19. Hence I guess waiting is my only option.
