Holla Amigos. Hope some of you have a bit of information that during summers, am I allowed to work full-time if I just have a study permit. If I gain the work permit, I am restricted to work for not more than 20 hours. however when the semester is off, can I work for more than 20 hours? Or when I am on co-op, is it allowed? Or is there a special work permit for that? I am undergrad engineering student in U of Alberta by the way.

You need to get a student work permit anyways, with that your are allowed to :
1) Work 20 hours a week when studies are in session
2) Work full time during the holidays.
3) Co-Op is simply the same work permit but school gives special permission to work full time DURING when the school is in session.
So basically its the same thing.

no you apply to CIC-Vegreville (atleast I applied there) and you will need to do a paper application....I guess you will need to fill change in conditions and mention the reason as Co-op a part of the academic curriculum...when I applied for the work permit it took me about 1.5 months to get it...uarshad said:
