Hi all,
I'm collecting my documents awaiting an ITA, and I had a question about student debt, and debt in general.
I currently owe the US government roughly $80,000 for my masters degree, and have other debt of $14,000 for my car.
I've been working to pay these debts off, and hope to find more / better work in Canada to do so. I currently have about $30,000 in liquid assets including cash in the bank ($10,000) and other assets I could sell. If I understand correctly, these would be my settlement funds...? Or would only the cash in the bank account for that?
Will the fact that I have high student debt impact my assessment for Permanent Residency?
Thanks!
