Hi -- It's my first time posting here and I hope I could get some feedback from you guys if we should do anything about our situation.
Has anybody experienced any delays with their spouse's work visa, which they submitted at the same time (under SDS)?
Applied: 25-Mar
Biometrics: did not need to provide (recent travel)
AIP: 18-Sep
Passport request: 16-Nov
Approval letter (PDF): 1-Dec
Passport received back: 3-Dec
The trouble is my wife, who submitted her application together with me under Student Direct Stream (SDS) back in March has no update up to now and we're getting worried if there's anything we missed or should do.
We already had 3x webform requests and all are very generic replies and not very helpful.
We're wondering if it's better to reapply again once we're in Canada in Feb (she has visitor visa from 2019) but that has complications e.g. she needs to leave Canada and back to be issued her work permit in case it were granted.
Another thing we are thinking is does she not need an approval because she has a visitor visa and she'll be issued a work permit when she enters Canada? I'm starting to doubt a lot of things I thought I knew because of the uncertainties and delays due to COVID-19.
Really appreciate your inputs and thanks for your time. Keep safe everyone.
