student and work visa approval process times

Hi, I have applied for a student permit and work permit, as well as an open work permit for my husband and two study permit for my little ones. We were sent for our medicals and we all passed them. Now I'm worried as it has been 5 weeks since we passed the medicals and still nothing on our application. Should I be worried? Or is it just paranoia? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Have you checked on your application status on CIC? How did you apply, paper or online?
I was also requested to do medicals and the next day we passed them they gave us the Visas. It is said that been asked for medicals is a good sign. You should follow up with them to see what is going on.

Also, how long was it before they requested for your medicals?

Hi. We were asked for medicals like maybe 3 weeks after my online application. They didn't request any new paperwork just asked us to go for medicals. I was the last one to pass mine which was on the 14 march. Process time went down to 10 weeks so I emailed this passed Thursday as our application was now 11 weeks. I got no reply but I saw online the date was changed to from the 03 April when last I heard from them saying no changes on my application yet, they thank me for my patience, to the 19april and the time kinda matched a bit after my email.

They may have not done anything to your application on the last 5 weeks. So hopefully they are working on it now and you will have an answer by next week.
