Hello.
Recently (Feb 18) i applied for a study permit for Canada, and everything was going well until medicals arrived.
in November i detected with pre-diabetes and placed my under a medication (Xigduo XR) and a change in lifestyle (exercise and diet).
He recently removed the medication, since all my vitals and all my tests where reflecting normal index, he told me that i didn't have to disclose this condition in my medicals since, according to all my tests the condition had successfully been reversed and all i had to do was continue with my exercise routine and healthy meals until i reached my ideal weight and it shouldn't be a problem.

Thing is that after doing my Meds (March 13) and waiting around 10 days (Thursday 22), i received a call from the PP telling me i had to go in for further tests (specifially HBA1C, Glucose, Urine and Serume Ceratinine). i went in last Friday, but since i knew that these tests were diabetes related i got worried and went the same day and did them in a walk in lab to try to identify the alarm that triggered this.

What i found was that everything was normal, blood glucose in 97, serume ceratinine in 0.8, BUN in 13.6, Microalbumine in 20, the red flags where my HBA1C that was in 6.8 and sugar in urine that was in 3+.

I rushed back to my dr and he put me in metformin again to lower my HBA1C

What i am wondering is 3 things:

1. What will this result trigger next, since my wife and my daughter have already been updated to medicals passed and only im pending.
2. How much longer will it take after further medical request is submitted?
3. The fact that i answered no to the panel physician when he asked if i have any condition and now this has happened, will that lead to a misrepresentation case, since now i think probably i should have told them about the condition?

what can i do to solve this issue? since i wouldn't want to be rejected for my study permit when i am already in the final stages of the process.

thank you for your orientation.

  1. Difficult to say, but they may request further testing, reject the application as medically inadmissible or approve it. You will have to wait for a response from IRCC
  2. Again, it will depend on what IRCC requires....could be no increase in processing time if they feel it isn't a major issue, or it could take many months if they want treatment completed before they process it further. .
  3. IMO, yes it is misrepresentation (others can correct me). Lying or withholding relevant information from IRCC is a crime and misrepresentation. Whether they find out or not, or put the information together and deem you inadmissible for misrepresentation is a totally different matter. You may get lucky, or you may not. But do be aware, if it's determined that you acquired your visa, permanent residence or even citizenship through misrepresentation of facts in order to gain advantage (like trying to avoid medical inadmissibility), your status is never safe. There is no statute of limitation on misrepresentation to IRCC.
