stuck on security screening

Not sure how this security screening thing works. Some people breeze thought it, other get stuck for months if not years.

I’m an October 2021 applicant, AOR January 2022, only criminality part of BGC is passed, security still pending.

Also no test invite till date!!

Bro I was asking when your file was stuck in security, it was because you applied for study visa or citizenship. I read it now. Actually, my file is in security since 18 August, as I have applied for study permit. So I don't know why is it taking so much time against my file and file is stuck in security check. Weird for study permit applicant

then the process is kinda different i think should go to the international student forum to ask members there they might know ... but im not sure .. could be worng tho ..
because when i applied for student permit it got approved like within 3 days ...

but i think security check has nothing to do with whether or not your on student visa , because my PR application only took 6 months to complete

In my case during PR application I went through SS from May 2018 until Jan 2019. Received PR in Feb 2019.(Applied for PR in Apr 2018) under CEC-Inland
I was dreading the same will happen during the Citizenship application, but thankfully my application was completed within 13 months
-Applied in Aug 2021,
-AOR in Oct 2021,
-FP request and FP taken in Mar 2022,
-BGC completed in Apr 2022,
-Test received and completed in May 2022.
-Physical Presence, Prohibitions, Language marked completed in Aug 2022
-Oath in Sep 2022

U went thru SS on ur Study permit application ? If yes then how many months did it take ?

when you apply for student visa IRCC will do security check too... my student visa took 1 months to get back in 10 years ago...

IRCC atip took 5 months the first time around. Second request still pending after 2 months.

Did you apply for citizenship or temporary status? I applied for a PR and my status has been stuck at security screening for almost a year. Did you get any viable suggestions?

I hope you got the PR, in my case criminality part of BGC is passed, eligibility is done, Medical is done, but SS has not even started, AOR JULY 2023.

just got my ATIP notes from CSIS and IRCC,
nothing looks wrong with my application, even the criminality is passed already,,, but The Security Screening still in progress..

anyonw know what might be the reasons that will delay the Security check ??

any comments will be appreciated !

Hi there, if you are still on/watching this thread. May I ask you if security is done on you application or how long it took.

Also stuck in security- application was submitted June 2022

Hey !! So if your ATIP is released and it appears fine it means your file is just in the pile and nobody is working on it . We were me and Saad Ahmad were stuck in the same situation and then we both filed a writ petition against IRCC and soon after that I got my permit in 1 month and saad after a week. I would recommend you the same. Otherwise the other 15 ppl who were with us with the same situation most of them got their in about 10 months max

What is the writ petition? You mean writ of mandamus?
