For the last little while, I've been sitting back quietly and just reading your posts. But I just cant do it anymore. Your negativity and impatience is becoming unbearable. Bloody hell!! This forum is about providing information and help to those who need it.....not your own personal space to vent your frustrations and worries. And you know what, people can give me all the negative feedback they want.....but someone needs to say this. This is Canada, I say again CANADA. Canadians come first, then permanent residents and then temporary persons. As it should be! The sooner you understand this the better.

You may hate the idea, but the Union has the right to fight for its members. I commend that! They are doing their jobs and fighting to keep Canadian wages up. You implying that they are destroying lives is complete and utter rubbish. You should be happy that you even have a chance to immigrate to this great country. There are people that would give up everything just at the prospect of coming here. You are almost done and are still complaining.

North America is all about happiness and opportunities....so how about you try that for a change. Focus on the good in your life! This forum is a great tool for advice, ideas and information. Constant complaining about things you cannot control is trivializing and demeaning to the purpose of this platform. And then next time you decide to say something like this....you might ought to think about those PAFSO people who are fighting for their livelihoods - the world doesnt revolve around your PR. And I'm sorry, you can hate me for saying that, but thats the way things are.

I just wanted u guys to understand it is easier to said than done.., it is not hard to say don't worry... But when u are in the situation, if u are worried, that is understandable. I have been here for here as an international student, the money my parents could buy at least couples houses here... What I am saying here, everyone case is unique, u don't understand my situation.
To be honest, in my opinion, everything is about policy, on the surface, it is about the wage increase issue, but there might be something hidden we don't know. Also, Canadian government is in debt almost, if they really increased the wage for their employee, they have either cut other budget or put the taxes on people in canada. Government would take out the money from their pocket... As a result, it is not longer the Problem between union and government, but the whole society.
In addition, the foreign worker is a dream job for many people, they have good pay and good benefit. I am sure many people inside the union is satisfied with it. They want to go back to work. I believe it must have the policy reason behind the strike.

Nicole, everyone is worried, everyone is watching their case - everyone is in the same boat as you. I agree with CEc2013 that this is not a forum that revolves around your case.
If you put as much effort into helping and advising others as you do your other posts then people may be much more open to helping you.
The second part of your comment doesn't make sense to me.

Person a Is paid 100k and works in their chosen area of Canada.

Person b is paid 85k and is positioned in a foreign country working on behalf of Canada. They receive 15k in allowances.

Person a has the obvious advantage.

If I were person b, I'd be striking for equal pay. And I'm pretty sure most of us would if we were in the same position.

Completely agree with lpc19800! You keep saying you are trying to get us to understand...are you implying that we dont? You think that the rest of us dont have plans or perhaps that we are not worried? Of all people on this forum, I am THE one that should be worried the most....but you wouldn't know that as I don't complain. But thanks for being so considerate of the rest of us. The money your parents spent on SCHOOL. Spare me the travesty bs! You got first class education and a degree that can be used anywhere in the world. There are people who sacrificed far more than just material things to be in Canada. Those that left families behind so that they can build a better life and possibly reunite with them one day.

Did you just imply that there is a hidden agenda behind the strike? WOW!!!!! Is this you speaking from your extensive experience in the public sector? No no, I know.....its the 1,300 members of PAFSO that are behind the conspiracy of driving money out of pockets of hard working Canadian tax payers (or are they just fighting for hire wages - which do you find more plausible). So, when the 240,000 other union members negotiate next year, what will that be?

Nicole, stop embracing your tendency to frame everything negatively. The strike is a fact of life! Oh but how do you know CEC? Cuz I have worked in the public sector and negotiating with unions is a constant struggle. It happens to every agency....from municipal waste-water to federal such as DFAIT. And not to be a condescending jerk....but your argument that this is no longer a government issue is just not logical. Politics 101 - people elected the government....therefore, it represents the people and thus it is still a matter for the government. Society's role is to elect their chosen representatives and those officials are the executors.

Everyone can appreciate that someone is worried - thats a given. But stop being attention-needy....cuz to me it sounds like you are looking for people to pity your situation. No one on this forum can do anything more than give you advice. You are very close to getting MR and the signs are all positive. Here's some advice....relax and take your mind off it. If it doesnt workout, its not the end of the world and you can always reapply. Ok thanks!

I have been here for here as an international student, the money my parents could buy at least couples houses here... So did many of us Nicole. Every single person in this forum must have spent a huge amount of money, so, you are not the only one who is going through tough times. What I am saying here, everyone case is unique, u don't understand my situation. EXACTLY Nicole, every case is unique and thats why they must be taking some time to wrap up your file. How come you want everybody to understand that your case is unique when it comes to hardships but where application processing is concerned, you expect to be treated same as everybody else?
To be honest, in my opinion, everything is about policy, on the surface, it is about the wage increase issue, but there might be something hidden we don't knowCould be, Nicole, but it DEFINITELY is not because the entire PAFSO team has decided to delay the process just to delay Nicole1006's application. There is no conspiracy theory here. The PAFSO members are not out to get you or anybody else.. Also, Canadian government is in debt almost, if they really increased the wage for their employee, they have either cut other budget or put the taxes on people in canada. Government would take out the money from their pocket... As a result, it is not longer the Problem between union and government, but the whole societySo are you worried abou the Canadian society as a whole or are you worried about just your application?.
In addition, the foreign worker is a dream job for many people, they have good pay and good benefit. I am sure many people inside the union is satisfied with it. They want to go back to work. I believe it must have the policy reason behind the strikeMaybe. But you can be rest assured that in that policy personal applications is not a point of consideration. They would be considering application delays as a whole not individual applications.
