Hi,

I hope some one can help me with this query. I am travelling to DEL via LHR and FRA with very short stopover at both these places. Would I need a transit visa at LHR or FRA?

I have checked enumerous sources and have deciphered that cz I have Canadian visa, I do not need a transit visa both in UK and FRA. My ticket is through to the final destination. So I am assuming I do not need to check in baggage again at either of the stopover ports. Is there anyone who can confirm anything on this?

2 stopover points in Europe. You will need a transit Visa.

But the two are not schengen countries.

Here is what UK gov website says- https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/india/transit/no

And the german embassy site says- http://www.india.diplo.de/contentblob/3174898/Daten/3387373/download_datei_transit_visa.pdf

You do not need a transit visa for LHR or FRA.

You do not need if arrival & departure are at the same terminal..means you don't have to pass through Immigration

Yea, that will be more precise.

What is the terminals are different but part of LHR only?

You will need a transit visa in that case as you will have to clear immigration to move from one terminal to another.

which terminals at LHR as some are joined by transit bus through security checkpoints only so stay airside use this link to check the process http://www.heathrow.com/flight-connections

This is not a hard and fast rule.
I have changed terminals for connecting flights at Heathrow and all the terminals I had to use so far where connected on the "Air Side Transit" side, which means no going through immigration and no transit visa required.

I suggest you check for your specific scenario.
But honestly, it will be an extremely rare scenario for you to need a transit visa even when terminals are different.
