Stoping sponsorship after visa issue

I have sponsored my wife recently. After all the excitement going through the process and bringing my spouse to Canada, a visa was granted for her. I was happy and being prepared to receive her. However, my relationship with her goes south dramatically after getting the visa. Eventually, she told me that she has no interest in the marriage or to live with me but to come to Canada. She told me she will fly to Toronto without my assistance and settle there. I live in a different province. I feel that I am betrayed and scammed. I just want to file my divorce and stop her from coming to Canada. I don't want to see her landing to Canada and create sponsorship problems as I have signed with CIC to take care of her for 3 years.

Any advice will be appreciated? Thanks.

I am so sorry for what happend to you.. Cant beleive how people just go over other's feelings with no mercy and do that just to come to canada.
Anyway Report her to cic right away. Some forum members mentioned once that you can deactivate her visa

Contact the visa office processing her file immediately both by registered letter and email to let them know you are no longer in a relationship with your wife, believe she is using you to get to Canada and are withdrawing your sponsorship of her application immediately.

Also call the hotline here and tell them you are reporting immigration fraud, have found out your wife is using you to come to Canada and you wish to withdraw your sponsorship of her application immediately:

Once you have reported her through all the available channels (and only after in my opinion), let her know she has been reported for marriage fraud and you have applied to withdraw her sponsorship, Get the divorce proceeding started ASAP. I know it's probably a difficult time for you after realizing all this, but you need to be clear in your thoughts and actions to prevent her becoming a future burden on you.

Does she have Conditional PR (condition 51) indicated on her COPR? If you were married less than 2 years at the time you submitted the app, then she should have conditional PR and would be required to live with you for 2 years after landing. Such an obvious case like this one where she will not even live with you from day 1, sounds to me like a super easy case where CIC would be able to revoke her PR status is she was able to land.

If she has not yet done the official PR landing, then as mentioned above you need to immediately call CIC and CBSA to report her and see if they will cancel her COPR. There is the chance that even if you do report everything, the CBSA officer may not see the info in time and would allow her to land as a PR. Timing now is critical for you.

You may want to also consider telling your wife that you have cancelled your sponsorship and when she tried to use her COPR to land in Canada, CBSA will see in their files she is no longer in a relationship and you have withdrawn sponsorship, and will deny her landing and send her right back to her home country from the airport. Hopefully in this case, she doesn't even try to land.

DAMN DAMN...I can't imagine what you feel, but it's not easy to handle, this stressful waiting time to end like that.We sometimes have to understand cic when they are trying to determine whether our relationship is genuine or not.

The comment on your case, I think it's too late to stop your sponsorship as decision was made,you can only report it which may not affect her valid visa but the only acceptable and legal step is divorce which will result in her conditional permanent residence being revoked, act now BILL C-6 and other immigration changes including condition 51 are on table. I presume you had no child together before your application or been married less than 2 years. if you divorced her quickly her PR status will be revoked and probably face deportation...unless Bill c-6 passes tomorrow, condition 51 is still in effect now but on table under review to be repealed.

I think it's too late to stop your sponsorship as decision was made,you can only report it which may not affect her valid visa

There have been cases here exactly like this, after COPR was already issued. Sponsor reported it quickly enough and CBSA denied the applicant from landing as a PR when they arrived in Canada.

I feel bad for the OP, however his wife must be a complete idiot for thinking she can just simply land and go under the radar, like if Condition 51 never existed. And I can't believe soon that condition will no longer apply.

Indeed, it's really a stressful and disappointing situation. Now friends and families are involved to mediate the situation. My heart is already shattered and I can't predict the future.... If the mediation comes out unfavorable, I have kept the following for backup purposes based on the comments above:
1) Immediately report to CIC
2) Contact Visa Office (mail + email)
3) Report to CIC hotline
4) Update marriage status on CIC's case specific enquiry
