Hi guys,

My PR application was received by CEC office on November 18, 2013 but I still haven't heard back on whether or not the application will be processed; thus I have NOT received my Acceptance of Receipt (AOR)

My current IEC work permit expired on April 17, 2014 - so in the meantime I applied to Citizenship and Immigration for the work permit extension WITHOUT the AOR on March 31, 2014.

Today I received word that my temporary work permit was rejected due to not having the AOR. So as of right now I can no longer work in Canada. It has been over 5 months since it was received by the CEC office and it is my understanding that I should have heard back within approximately 10 weeks.

In sum:

- CEC application received by your office on November 18, 2013
- have not heard back
- applied for extension without AOR to CIC - attached Canada post receipt and emails sent
- application rejected
- currently awaiting for AOR or any other information on my PR application from CEC

What should I do next?
You can't speak to anyone at CEC, they don't reply to emails and CIC just tell me to email CEC again. As of today I can no longer work. Do I need to change my status to visitor, should I seek legal advice from a lawyer and could my CEC application be lost?

I was hoping you guys might know someone that has been in this position before or provide me with any advise.

I would really appreciate any help/feedback - I really don't know where to turn to.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Alfie

Try logging in ECAS with your UCI and other information. Email CIC with all information such as UCI, DOB, Name, Address, etc. hope they reply this time.

Can you login to ECAS?

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en

Use your Client number, Last name, Date of birth, place of birth and see if you can login.

If you can login then you already got AOR (probably got lost in Junk email).

If you can not login, you can only email Ottawa ("CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca" no spaces) with your above information and ask them the status of your file. It is kind of useless if they don't have a file on your name - just a try if they can give you any info from your UCI.

How to contact the Centralized Intake Office
If you applied to the CIO under the Canadian Experience Class and need information about your case, you may contact the Client Service Unit (CSU). Note that if your application has already been sent to the visa office for processing, the CIO will not be able to help you.

You will not get a reply to your email if:

you have not already applied under the Canadian Experience Class,
you are not authorized by the applicant to get their personal information,
you applied within the last six weeks, or
your question is about a topic other than your case.
Please do not send the same question more than once. You can reach the CSU at CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca.

Courier address
Centralized Intake Office
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, Nova Scotia B1P 5Z2
Canada

Please clearly mark “Canadian Experience Class” on the outside of the envelope or in email subject line.

Do you know if your credit card has been charged? If its bank draft did you call your bank and check if it has been cashed?

would you share how you completed your 1 year while IEC is usually a one year work permit?
I also thought that IEC holders weren't eligible for BOWP but I could most definitely be wrong on this.

I have completed my two year IEC visas and am eligible for CEC as I have over one years experience which matches the NOC code.

My certified cheque has been cashed by CEC according to Scotiabank so they should be processing my application.

I have just checked ECAS and there is nothing showing up and I have been checking my junk mail in case it was sent there but to this date I have received nothing.

I have several friends that have completed the two years IEC visas and have now obtained PR - for CEC you just require one years Canadian work experience which matches one of the required NOC codes.

As My application for PR has been submitted to CEC on November 2013 and my current Work Permit expiring April 17, 2014 while CIC process the application I can apply for BOWP while they make their decision. It's just I haven't received my AOR form CEc to apply for my BOWP and it I should have received it usually within 10 weeks where as mine has been 5 months to date!

What you may be thinking of there, is that you can't apply to extend an IEC, and therefore you don't get implied status by applying.

Nothing stopping you from going from an IEC to a BOWP.

Yeah sorry. I forgot. Call CIC again and ask them how to get a file No. incase if you deleted that email by mistake.

Hi,

I am in a similar boat, my application was received on the 10th of March, but still no AOR issued and have not heard anything from CIC.

Can you update me on your case so I know what to expect?
