I am new to the forum and I am planning to apply for Canada PR. I checked the NOC list published for 2013 and found that my occupation is listed down:

2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers

For processing a PR, as per my understanding, we have to fill the form 'Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008]' and submit this document along with the below given documents:

Document Checklist [IMM 5612] (PDF, 233 KB)
Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP] (PDF, 472 KB)
Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669] (PDF, 170 KB)
Schedule 3: Economic Classes [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 3]
Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] (PDF, 79 KB)
Supplementary Information - Your travels [IMM 5562] (PDF, 21 KB)
Separation Declaration for Minors Travelling to Canada [IMM 5604] (PDF, 21 KB)
Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union [IMM 5409] (PDF, 19 KB)
Fee Payment Form – Application for Permanent Residence

Can anyone please confirm my understanding?

CIC is only accepting 300 application for 2174 and they began accepting applications at the start of May. This is a very popular occupation. Consequently the 300 cap has definitely been reached by now (it was surely reached sometime in May). So my advice is that there's no point in applying. You'll be wasting your time and money. Applications received after the cap has been reached will be automatically returned unprocessed.

none of the categories have been filled up yet... keep a track of the cap from this website and you will be able to plan better.. do not be misguided...
good luck...
