Hi - I have completed RPRF, Bio-data, medicals and received PPR on e-mail-
Issue - I am in India and CIC has requested me to send the passport to Ottawa Canada. It is not legal to post or courier the passport. I have already e-mailed CIC on this but no response yet. Any suggestions or way to get this done - as I believe this must be an issue to all like me at this stage and there must be a simple and standard way to get this done.

Please search this forum and you will find a lot of opinions...

On the side, can you please publish your timelines and NOC code..

I applied under NOC 1122 and 0213.
I submitted the application by end of Aug'12 from Canada and left the country. I received first e-mail from CIC to acknowledge my application in around Sep'13. Next I got e-mail from CIC for RPRF and Biodata in June'13. I paid RPRF online and sent the biodata and receipt. I got request for Medicals in July'13. By end of July, I completed that and sent them e-Medical forms (it actually gets reported by medical agency itself). Few days back, I received PPR (passport request) from CIC.

I have searched the forum to get a viable option but not getting a safe one. Many said that they got it sent thru' friends or couriered etc. but no proper answer to get the passport stamped. Please help if you can get me the string...

Hi CA_CEC,

I have the same issue. Received my PPR while in India. I too have searched the forum extensively and learnt that most of the applicants in this situation either sent their passports through their friends or relatives or applied for a visitor visa.

When did you receive your PPR ? Who is the visa officer who sent you the PPR email and when did you email them ?

Have you managed to send your passport from India?

Hi All - I found following string where 'new2can' posted a solution where he says that we can go thru' VFS to get the passport stamped from CHC, New Delhi. I have called VFS India (022- 67866002) and they told me to contact their local office and indicated that they consider this service. I do not recommend to courier or get the passport sent thru' friends as a good option; rather we should not take this route as it is not only risky but not legal.

Any progress on your passport request?

Update for all - I hv submitted my and my family's passport to VFS, Kolkata, India office for PR Visa stamping. They accepted it without any issue with a charge of INR400 each passport (total for me = Rs1600). But now it is 2 weeks - VFS tracking says passport submitted to CHC, Delhi - in process.

Also, I found in CIC, India website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/new-delhi.asp) - "Visa Application Centre (VAC) - VACs offer services for temporary resident applications (visitors, students and workers) and permanent resident travel documents."

As I progress, I will keep this trail updated.
