Hey everyone I have a step sister in Jamaica who would like to come and visit me in the summer as I would have just given birth. Would this still classify as her coming to visit family or would her reason primarily be “tourism” on the application?
Also would it be good to show evidence of my pregnancy and due date for the application

she has a job and so will have evidence of finances and strong ties to return afterwards.

Does she have a visitor visa or she has a vis and is you applying for written authorization to travel? She should say coming for family visit & she needs to show she can afford her stay. Show job, funds, property etc. If she doesn’t have a visa, Processing is about 8 months. Then with an approved visa, she needs written authorization to travel due to Covid.

we are applying for the visa now, I wasn’t sure if being a step sister would still be under visiting family as the website says family members are immediate family ie mother father sister brother. Didn’t mention step siblings.
How does written authorization work? Who would supply this letter?

Your immediate family is your spouse, children and parents. Extended family members are siblings. Visa processing is about 7+ months not including written authorization.
