Hello friends
After the success of my post on getting attestation from Mumbai University for sending documents to WES, I come up with an elaborative experience of collecting Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Joint Commissioner’s Office Mumbai. This is for all those aspiring blokes who have been rambling to get a PCC from local district police headquarters. Remember CIC has explicitly mentioned that for people living in states other than Delhi and Punjab must obtain PCC from local district police headquarters and not PSK.
Registration
First and foremost, register yourself on Mumbai Police’s General Unit Maharashtra’s website. The webpage will display Mumbai Police Special Branch. Click on new registration. Fill in all your details. Remember an applicant needs to select “PCC for Abroad.” Once all details are entered, fix up an appointment date. This office accepts applications between 11:00 to 11:30, so better try to fix up an appointment to submit the form in this time period. An ARN and an appointment number would be generated once an appointment date is fixed.
Location for form submission
Take a print out of ‘Application form’ and ‘Appointment receipt’ from Application details section and visit the Joint Police Commissioner’s Office which is bang opposite Crawford market. You need to enter through gate number 5, which incidentally falls on the main road. This gate is opposite to an apparel showroom.
Documents needed
The application form mentions the list of documents that are needed. This includes attested photocopies of
REMEMBER, THE PHOTOCOPIES OF THE DOCUMENTS NEEDS TO BE DULY ATTESTED BY GAZETTED OFFICER OR FIRST CLASS MAGISTRATE.
Don’t forget to carry all originals for verification.
Post submission
Once the application form for PCC and documents are submitted, visit your local police station with the same set of documents (without the application form), submitted earlier. Carry originals too along with your passport.
I hope you find my review useful. Do reach me out in case of any assistance.
