Hey Guys,

I am currently staying in USA and applying for canadian PR under FSW category. I have found various ways of getting PCC from India but I am confused which one to use.

Can you guys please tell me what is the easiest way to get Police Clearance Certificate from India.

My parents are staying in India (Mumbai).

Thanks a lot and appreciate your help!!

hi

if u want to get pcc from india then , if i were u, then i would go to indian consulate in usa and request them pcc bcz sometimes the canadian immigrtion doesnot consider pcc which get from your parents or friends in india. as u legally in usa so i think u should go to indina consulate ..

ohh man. that will be crazy as I am staying in Massachusetts and the indian embassy is in New York I believe. Is this the only way to get PCC for India.

Is there anyone else in the forum who is in the same boat as me. I wish there is an easier way to do this

perlperl,
Though I am in USA, I got a police clearance from my home town in India. I got it when i went for a visit to India. I am not sure if you can get it when you do not go in person.
All the best.

If you have a relative or friend in India, you may authorize that person to collect PC from the police commissioner of your city / area where you used to live or your parent's permanent address. I got the same without any hassles. You have to mention, that you need the PC for Canadian immigration. This process is faster and smoother than going through the inefficient Indian embassy in NY.
