Stay in Canada after work permit expires?

Hi!

My work permit expires october 7th and I am now looking at flights home to Sweden. Does any body know if I have to leave before october 7 or can I stay 2 weeks but not be working (of course)? Or will they hunt me down and send me home if I stay two weeks to close bank accounts, sell stuff etc...?

Technically, after your work permit is expired, you have 90 days grace period to restore your status (you can choose to extend). During this period, you can't work. I don't see a problem of staying for 2 more weeks. Besides, the immigration doesn't have an exit control so they don't really know when you leave the country.
