It is a big victory the bill wont be passed anytime soon but even with opposition putting on a fight, it wont change anything. I can see we are going back to a minority government next year and it will still be Conservative. JT just isnt ready! It is so hard to have a majority but the Conservatives wont have much time left to finish what they try to do.

I do not believe this has to do anything with Bill C-24 but I might be wrong... this has something to do with 'women and immigration'?

Thanks sep15 for the update ... Please keep us posted ...
I'm supposed to apply end of June ... I hope I can make it without the new law

Has anyone peeked anywhere to find out if there is going to be anything on this bill next two weeks? anyone. any idea. Or has this been parked for a while?

This bill likely be delayed due to Harper is busy now on recent Russia and US cold war over Crimea and Ukraine. He does not have time for bill C-24.. Good for immigrant..

I saw recent G-7 meeting and it looks he is very active and trying to portrait himself as world leader besides Obama raising his voice against Putin..

You obviously don't keep up with political events. G7 = G8 - Russia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G8

Have you seen yesterday CBC news that Russia is kicked out from G8..so it is now G7. And I find HARPER is quite excited about it.. but Obama looks calm and composed.. So, he is not in a mood to follow up the C-24..hahahah

I have indeed seen that picture flaoting around but I did not think that its G7 officially....

Yes, officially it is not G7 yet but Harper was saying that until Putin backs off from Crimea, Russia is out of G8.. Harper seems quite happy for his role to kick out Putin from G8. In response, Russia retaliated by banning few Canadian diplomats entering to Russia.. So it looks Harper is now more focused on Putin issue rather than C-24..

Harper and other Canadian politicians like to punch above their weight in foreign policy. Putin doesn't care about Obama let alone Harper. I am really surprised how Canada is in G7. Canada is too small to be a significant global power in terms of population and military. Apparently, Americans brought in Canada because European countries were opposing a lot of US policies. I read that in the book where they mentioned Jean Chretien say that.
