Its been 8 weeks now since I sent my application. Can I send status enquiry or should I just wait. Or is there any other way to check applocation status.

You should wait. CIC is currently processing applications that reached them on May 7/8, so it's not time for you to worry yet. You can follow the spreadsheet below for the information from forum members:

If you haven't noticed already, the spreadsheet has multiple pages, each with different categories of information for 2014 applicants from this forum. It has application status by date of receipt by CIC, by Vo, by NOC etc for example. There is also a page that shows you which dates the CIC is currently charging payment or giving PER for.
