Hi Forum Members,

Today afternoon,i received the pasports with the visa and also the Ecas status changed to decision made in the morning.A feeling of happiness and a sense of relief.I am yet to see the stickers but my wife confirmed to me.
My passports were received by the London office on 08/03/10.The whole process has taken excatly a year.My Ecas status as under, for your reference.

"We received your application for permanent residence on March 16, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 28, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the London England office on April 1, 2009. The London England office may contact you.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on August 11, 2009.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

I would like to thank the forum members for all the support and encouragement.Especially,Mr.Qorax for his unstinting support to this forum irrespective of the fact who the member is.I would especially mention here the fact that the forum members are much better in their advice than the consultant. For eg:I do not know whether Mr.Qorax remembers. In my case there was a slight hitch with respect to the single name in my passport.I have gone thro this process with the help of a consultant. The consultant adviced me wrongly and unnecesarily to change my name in the passport.I am sure you guys know, what a painful and time consuming procedure that is.But Mr.Qorax adviced me exactly to just ignore it as it was not at all a problem, which in effect was the correct advice.Hence i am not totally against hiring a consultant, but their service is woeful and they lack expertise, unless you are really pressed for time.I am availing the post landing services of the consultant.Hope so they fare better.Initially i was not exposed to this forum.Maybe that explains why i went with a consultant.
Guys, what i want to emphasise here is even if you go with a consultant, ultimately it is your future hanging in the balance, hence you need to be proactive and follow your case closely.Especially in procuring your PCCs,the consultants have no role to play.In my case since i was working in about three different countries,i followed it up myself directly with the Police.Touchwood i got all the PCCs,even though it was painful and it also delayed my case,as i was unable to send all the PCCs on time with my initial submission of complete documents.

I wish all the members the very best in their future endeavour, whether it may be wiating for the visas or for guys who have already landed or planning to land.
May GOD bless all of you.

Thanks and regards

Dear friend,

It was wonderful to know about your success. Congrats !!! I'm sure u'll do good & have all the success in the future as well. In your joy rests our happiness too !!!

BTW: That 'post landing' services of your consultant would be a 'sham' as well. The various Community Centres & Service Canada offices, spread all over the country exactly do that [a shade better] also for free. Nonetheless, that u have paid them, u might as well take 'full advantage' of their services to the hilt.

God Bless U & Your Family !!!

Hi Qorax,

Thank you so much for all your support and words of encouragement.

I need your advice on this.

I have only one name in my passport and the name is under given name, whereas the surname is blank. But when i received the visa, they have mentioned the name under surname and left the given name blank.
I read somewhere in the forum that this does not make any difference while landing and can be ignored.
Just to recheck with you,can i ignore this and is it necessary to intimate the Visa office.
Pls respond.

Thanks

Hi,

If the name is [eg.] Shahrukh Khan & it's written on the 'surname' as Shahrukh Khan [keeping the 'given' name 'blank'] -it is FINE.

Qorax
