Hello Folks,

Just curious. Does the status update overnight only or it can change during the day too?

So if my status remains same in the morning, is it worth checking again later that day?

In Ontario, the system gets updated at 7:00 am only. Sorry idk about other provinces.
Anyway, it gets updated only once a day and that's usually being in the morning.

My wife's status was changed to IP at 9:30pm Monday evening. We all know that CIC was closed during that time. So status change could happen at any time as far as I'm concerned.

Where do you live?
Have you checked it the same day but in the morning?

Brampton Ontario. I checked the status in the morning, no change. Then at 9:30pm same day, wife has gotten IP email. Checked status online, it was listed as IP.

That's interesting! Usually they don't send IP emails.
Anyway, congrats for you guys.

You are absolutely correct. My mistake. I have mistaken AOR email for IP. To be honest, I'm not sure when the status was changed from AOR to IP but it was only online status check that it was changed to IP. No email was sent for IP.

However a friend of ours has gotten an test invite email at around 4pm.

The actual problem here is that you even consider checking your ecas more than once a day. That's a recipe for going insane. Just check it once a week or something.

I mean do what you want but I feel you're just setting yourself up for misery. This process will take months.

The ECAS updates are sent via some sort of of an automated DB update to email, so there is no specific time for anything as there is always a queue. For example, that is why you can get an email/ECAS update on a Saturday or a Sunday and /or at any point of the day/night.

Thanks for the input guys!!! I Just wanted to know.

The same time all over Canada. 7;00 am Ontario, 5:00 west Canada, 8:00 a.m. Nova Scotia,...

My wife and I got test invite via email around 9 am; however, both ECAS (she has a separate one) were updated 3 days later between 1 pm - 10 pm. I know this because I checked multiple times on the day I received the email and every morning the next couple days after.

Depends on your idea of "west Canada" -- BC is three hours difference.

Better yet, look at the spreadsheet and set your expectations. If the average wait between AOR-IP is 40 days, checking it daily from when you received AOR will make you nuts. The only reason people do this is because they treat this as if it's some sort of race. These folks are just setting themselves up for disappointment and depression.

In my opinion, the only timelines you can compare with other people (maybe) is the time from DM to oaths. And even that can be sketchy. All other timelines are application dependent, so are impossible to compare as no two applications are the same.

Set expectations when you apply.
