Status : Application Received (Worried)

I am the Sponsored Spouse, I am living and working here in Saudi Arabia and my wife is in Canada. We checked our status online and it's stated there that June 4, 2012 CIC received our application. July 30, 2012 a decision was made and they said the letter containing the decision was already sent to my sponsor, my wife. We are just worried since it's been so long since they sent the letter but the letter was not yet received by my wife. How long should we wait for the letter? Does anyone who has the same story as me? I keep on checking my status online and it remains to be APPLICATION RECEIVED. Does it mean they did not started yet processing our application. We are so pessimistic about the result. I hope my wife's Sponsorship application on me was approved.

She should have already received the letter it would never take close to 2 months to received the letter. as I.N said your VO is 2 year wait so you won't hear anything from them for awhile. As far as her being approved I believe she has been this is why your E-CAS is stating application received. Mississauga has already sent it to your VO and they have received it, is what that means. Have your wife call tell them she hasn't received anything from them even tho her E-CAS is saying they had mailed a letter, is it possible they sent her an e-mail? maybe it got sent into her spam folder?

Yeah its almost 2 months but she had not received any letter or email, but when she called the hotline number of CIC, they said that she have to wait for the letter which they had sent last July 30. I'm hoping that our application is already on-going.

i have the same question.....i got an email from Mississauga dat my file has been sent to the islamabad embassy on the 30th of jan 2012....but since then wenever i check my status online...its written "Application Recieved". what do they really mean by that?? is my file in process???

My letter never got to me. They told me I was approved over the phone. Have your wife call over and over till you get an answer.

The status on ecas isn't reliable. You just have to wait for an email. We got the passort request before our status went to in process. So yes it could be in process even though it still only says application received.

You will see "application received" for a while..."in process" on ecas is updated at the end of the process.

No worries, I am sure everything its fine, anyway Islamabad Embassy takes up to 26 months for process a file, at times could be less.

we filed our papers on the 3rd of dec 2011 and then received an email from them dat the file has been transfered to islamabad emabassy on the 30th of jan 2012. since then wenever i check my online status it says "Application Recieved".

few days back my husband emailed them asking about the processing time so they replied with this:

If any further information is required, you will be contacted. In the meantime, please continue to wait patiently as the processing of your application continues.

Everything that Canadiangirl is saying is true. It is just a waiting game. My wife is sponsoring me and our application was received in Mississauga on April 20, my wife got notification on July 20 that she had been approved as my sponsor. Since then my ecas has jsut stated that my application was received on April 20, even though I know that it has been transferred to London. Last week I spoke to someone we know in immigration who let me know that my application is just sitting on a waitlist waiting to be processed. I do not expect my ecas to change untill a decision has been made.

Just be patient, everything will work out.

You need also to check your emails. It's likely Abu Dhabi VO is now working on your application.
