Embarrassing but can anyone advise whether this will be sufficient and that it is okay for the background declaration form. It shows on my PCC that I have a reprimand so I'd rather declare it then them thinking 'why has she not declared it' - any advice will be appreciated, I don't want them to think to much into it as it nearly 10 years ago and I was a minor.

I am not the principal applicant but my partners common-law who is in the application:

''Although I have ticked 'NO' to the above questions I want to declare that I received a reprimand/verbal warning on the 10 March 2005 at the age of 13 as I was involved in a playground fight which took place on school grounds on the 02 February 2005. I was asked to go to the police station on the 10 March 2005 with my father to give my statement, of which I did. No further action was taken and I was informed by the officer that the reprimand would be removed when I turned 18, however I understand that the law has changed in the mean time. I have since been a law abiding citizen.''

Thanks for any replies, I'm worrying a little over this :-X

Background Declaration states that enter your information after you turned 18. You should write NO in every question. If you want just write an explanation letter mentioning all thing that happened and attach it with background declaration form.

So that's it? You got a talking-to when you were 13? I would not even mention it.

Hi. Background just since 18yo if you are less than 28yo. So, since you are 22/23, you only need to go back 4/5 years and, consequently, you don't need to mention it there.
In case your PCC shows the arrest, just attach a letter explaining it together with the police report issued at the time of the incident that took place at the age of 13.

Regards ;)

thank you ;D glad to know its only after 18yo, I didn't get a report issued at the time or anything, so if I just attached a separate explanation letter similar to what I wrote ^ to my PCC will that be sufficient?

If the PCC shows the arrest, then that becomes an issue. I would ask for a police statement (from your local police station) that describes the incident and that not other arrest or convictions are on your name, translate it and attach it to the CPP. That will help the official decide your case. However, if you decide to send just a letter... How will the officer know that you are telling the truth, or even if that is the only arrest you had in the past?
Safe way is to have the incident in writing and a statement saying that no more records are found on your name. Maybe a police station can give you that statement, and once you get it, have it translated if needed and send it together with the CPP.

Good luck

Thank you appreciate that but I thought as it happened when I was under 18 it wouldnt be an issue? I declared it for my IEC visa in 2011 and nothing was mentioned and they had a police cert. So just to make sure, your advising sending an explanation statement from the police station even though im paying £45 for them to have a police certificate sent wity my application that will mention it? :/
