Starting work in Canada on AINP nomination

Hi all,
I note this from AINP web site:
"If the Candidate is approved as a Provincial Nominee and they find employment in their field in Alberta, the AINP may be able to issue a letter of support that would help the Candidate start working in Alberta right away, prior to their application for permanent residence with CIC being finalised."

I wish to find out more on this option. Has anyone checked with AINP on this? Will employers accept us as candidates based on us saying that AINP will issue "letter of support"? What does the "letter of support" give us?

Finding a job without being present in Canada is the biggest problem. If that can be done rest of the process should be easy I guess.

I asked this query with AINP 15 days back.... and it seems to me like it's not that easy after getting nomination. Work Permit visa has to go through its regular process like getting LMO etc, etc.. even after getting the nomination... Let me know if you guys think its good option after getting nomination.

AINP Answer to it was:

Yes, you can apply for a work permit. If you choose to do so after you
receive a nomination certificate from the AINP, you can include a copy
of the nomination certificate with your work permit application, and
this can expedite the processing of the work permit application.

Step Two: Obtain copy of employer's Labour Market Opinion (LMO)



The employer who offers you employment must satisfy Service Canada that
there are no Canadian citizens or permanent residents available to fill
the position which you have been offered. If Service Canada is satisfied
that there are no Canadian citizens or permanent residents available to
fill the position, the position receives Service Canada's approval and
they will issue a positive labour market opinion (LMO) to the employer.
It is the employer's responsibility to obtain the LMO.



Step Three: Obtain a work permit



After you have a job offer from an Alberta employer and the employer
forwards you a copy of the Service Canada LMO and the employment
contract, you should apply for a work permit from Citizenship and
Immigration Canada (CIC). In most situations, a temporary foreign worker
must apply for a work permit from outside of Canada. Applications for
work permits can be made at a visa office at a Canadian embassy, high

Temporary foreign workers are responsible for proving they are qualified
to meet the job requirements. They must also meet CIC's requirements
regarding admission to Canada including health and security checks. In
some cases an immigration medical examination is required before coming

Hi Manny....Did you find a job in Alberta yet...I just read your question that you posted online and I'm looking out for soem aswers regarding the same....Can you plz tell me if you applied WP using AINP nomination?

You can obtain work permit if you have employer to sponsor you in Canada. Work permit application requires "letter of support" from the provincial immigration in lieu of LMO (if you are nominated) + your employment contract + passport copies + fees

Hello all,

I applied for WP using AINP nomination letter last year, the nomination letter will work as LMO, so all you need to have is nomination letter, job offer from Alberta employer, plus copies of passport, previous WP if any, marriage certificate if applies, fees. Then mail or apply on line to Vegreville office, in case you are living already in Canada.

If you are not in Canada then you will have to find a job offer first then let AINP office know of your job offer so they can send you a letter that you can send to the Canadian embassy in your country of residence in Liu of LMO along the rest of papers need it to apply for the WP. Hope this will be helpful...
