Hi everyone, my name is Estuardo Dacaret I currently live in Guatemala and I'm in the final process of getting my permanent residency. Since my wife is Canadian I did the outland family sponsorship. Recently they requested my passport which I sent a few days ago so I guess they'll probably send it back in about a month with my visa to enter Canada.

With my wife and kids (ages 6,5 and 4) we are planning on going to Calgary around early November ( since they told me visa expires at the end of that month) so my kids finish their school year here in Guatemala which ends in October. I have a question when we get to Canada could they start school immediately, should they wait until January or how does that all work? How should I proceed with all school aspects (how to start, how to choose, will they give them extra English classes to catch up etc). I also understand which school also depends on where you live. The first at least few weeks I'll go live with my brother in law, but once I get a job and settle (maybe around mid December) I'm gonna look for a place to live (just my family) preferably in the suburbs and maybe not close to were he lives, since he lives in the city. How does this affect how I should or could look for schools?

Thank you everyone, appreciate if you guys have suggestions, explanations, recommendations etc
