A friend of mine registered a small business in canada for startup, while overseas in New Burnswick worth CAD$200,000

He now wants to go to Canada to operate the business, how can he get a work permit or visa to operate his business ?? Can he get an offer letter from his own company to himself ? How does it work, please let me know.

It is unlikely that he would be given a work permit, as there is no category for his plans.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting country though, someone starts a business in Canada, but cannot actually go to Canda Itself to operate it ??? :o Most countries have a business residence visa sort category for anyone who owns / operates a business to allow the person to enter the country temporarily.

Canada has a self employed category and an entrepreneur category. The threshold is pretty high though. Originally the self employed wasn't but it got ridiculous with little corner stores and restaurants turning over and being sold to "self employed" immigrants. So as they "landed" the business was sold to the next applicant.

Isn't there also a rule that says a Canadian business must have at least one Canadian as a director?
