Hi everyone,
I heard that before giving a protected person PR status, his/her passport will be stamped at the Landing interview. Is this correct? and how does this affect the person? Do they stamp it in order to prevent conventional refugees to travel to their country of origin if the passport is valid? Please I would like to hear from anyone who experinced or heard that.

Thank you

Lebran

Realistically you would not want to return back to your country because that would defeat the purpose of you applying for a refugee status. I dont know the answer to your question

Thank you newton for your reply.
I still dont not want to return back home and live there, but possibly I would like to visit my family for a few days. It has been aloooong time i have not seen them.

Regards,

It is no true that any stamp is to prevent you for going back to your original country, it is the immigration visa stamped, but it is advice that you need to good jugdement about your country situation, the goverment of Canada can not protect you in your country, specially if you got fled the country fearing that government, if the situation that push you out your country hasn't change, you can run into troubles with that regimen.

Thank you margrey for your clear message. I know that going backhome might be questioning and I won't do it unless I get a green light from CIC.

Best regards,
