Stage 1 Processing

I doubt that a higher volume of calls will result in slower processing times. The folks answering the phone are probably not the same ones who are working on applications. From what I understand, the people who review the applications are not simply call attendants answering the phone.

My application was received on April 13. So, I should hear something from CIC by July 4. Then a month until the application reaches the Hong Kong VO August 4. I plan to leave for Canada by the end of February 2013, so that gives the Hong Kong VO 6 months to process my wife's visa...hopefully my case is strong enough to warrant a fast processing time (I'm pretty sure it is!)...

Anyway, good luck to all and hope we can all have faster processing times!

You are optimistic with CIC if we say processing times are increasing exponentially...I do not want to count and I hope you will get it faster.

What is going on? A couple of days back it showed the latest update as April 10, 2012...84 days working on Jan 17.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Is CIC aware that this is killing people??

Today, I saw two things as you just said. One time is 75 days another time is 84 days!
It is like a crazy kid playing on the website, the weird thing it happens in the weekend just as a couple of weeks ago

Yep, same here FS. Strange but you know what? Who cares if 75 or 84. We just started the journey. Take the higher number and be surprised positively if it happens faster. ??? ???

According to the January spreadsheet they're working on apps past Jan 17. I just can't believe how long it's taking them to do just a couple days worth of apps. It's depressing.

If they are working backward, they will eventually go back to April 2011 all what you need to do is add exp(55) days ... I do not know when will they work forward?

Well they aren't actually working backwards. Maybe some officers are still on jan 17 and they're trying to be very accurate. We know someone from jan 25 has been approved. I think they've been getting floods of calls due to the long wait time and are trying to avoid it.

One of the frustrating things for those of us living outside of Canada is that there is no number for us to call...even using my VPN with a Canadian server, I cannot connect with CIC - M. They should have a number for us to call! The Hong Kong VO will not have answers for stage 1 questions...

Anyone know of a way to connect with them from outside of Canada (aside from e-mail, fax, or letter)?

They always get more apps in the fall and winter... ie/ people get married in spring ans summer and then prepare their app and send it off fall and winter... They are going to be busy and the number of days grows with the amount of apps they received from now til the date back that they are currently processing. don't forget that they probably got a little backlogged from the Christmas mail and being closed for holidays so all those apps probably arrived in bundles in the beginning of January. I know it is stressful, I have been there. But there isn't much you can do about it. This is the process. Welcome. Actually, I am still there as I am in Stage 2 which is MORE stressful. At least Stage 1 has a weekly update as to how many DAYS they are processing at and on which date they are processing files from. Stage 2, well, you don't get that courtesy! I suggest finding a hobby for the next 2 months and try not to check up on it as it will drive you crazy. Let Stage 2 drive you crazy lol... Im getting there lol.. Good Luck!

Maybe this is a good sign that somebody is putting in extra time on the weekend as I am sure noone came into the office today for the sole purpose of updating the website?!?! just sayin
