We were a landed immigrant way back in 2001. My wife, son and daughter have received Canadian citizenship in 2005. I had applied for my citizenship but had to withdraw my application later. Then I left Canada for good in 2006 but continued to visit my family till Feb 2008 with the help of my PR card. Then I surrenderned my PR and have valid documents.
I am 66 years old and RETIRED person living in India. Since my wife is Canadian citizen (living with me in India with OCI), can she sponsor me now? I have kept 100K+ CAD in her name in Canadian bank.
My son is married and has place of residence in Canada. We ( myself and wife) will stay with them.
Will my wife be eligible to sponsor me in spite of the fact that I was the principal applicant in 2001 but later surrendered my PR ?
I do not want my son to be involved in the process of sponsorship except providing free accommodation for parents. What is my chances of getting PR on the basis of my wife's Canadian citizenship?
I will greatly appreciate your response.
Thanks
