self attested. if you meant LOA from college or UNi. then yes it should be self attested while applying for GIC.

Please ensure all your documents except for the original ones such as passport, medical which are submitted in original do not need any attestation. However, any doc you submit with CHC which is a photocopy must be notarized.

This is very important as this authenticate your documents.
