Hello.... does anyone else applied for spow from pakistan .. i applied online on 29 nov. 2015 but still no updates.. n application is open.. im thinking to apply visitor visa beside this .. because there is no further processing n i heard they dont allow or give pakistani this vissa. Kindly guide me what to do... if u applied n u r successful from pakistan kindly share your timeline ... help plzzzz i want to join my husband there...

Wait a bit more , and apply for TRV .
For Pakistan , processing time is quite long .
So have patient ,

I have heard from forum members that CIC had technical issue with their online system back in sep-dec 2015. Even the applicants for post graduate work permits, who applied in that time frame from inside Canada, are still waiting.

I myself applied for my spouse open work permit (she is in Pakistan too) in Jan-2016, and as of now, there is no feedback from CIC. I talked to an immigration consultant, that if I could apply for TRV for my wife, while SOWP is in process, but he recommended against it.

Ask your husband to call CIC call center in Canada, or send a case specific inquiry about your file. But I am afraid they will say the application is still under regular processing time (10 months for Pakistan).

CIC call center may help you in this case, whether you should apply for TRV or not. Let us know your outcome. best of luck

Current average processing time for work permit from Islamabad office are 10 months. I applied back in August 2014 during that time the average processing time for work permit was 6 months. My spouse work permit time line was as follows:

Applied online: August 19, 2014
Medical request: December 1, 2014
Medical test was on December 18, 2014 IOM Karachi
Medical received on mycic on Decemeber 24, 2014
Passport request: January 14, 2015
Passport received with visa: January 26, 2015

Can u tell me when did Cic change the processing time of spouse open work permit for pakistan .. i applied on 28 nov 2015... my application deadline will b 6 months or 10 months.. n guide me what to do when my process time is over n no update or process is happened..
