Hi,

I am working my way through the completing my application online for PR after I got my ITA yesterday (10-Aug-2017).

I completed filling all my personal info and my spouse's info as well, however, after I have completed filling them, I have reached a stage where it asks me to upload all the documents related to employment and educational certificates for my spouse as well.

Now, I am confused, if I should upload documents for my wife's supporting documents too.

Also, I am not sure of how things would proceed. Is there someone that could help me with the exact flow of events after one receives an ITA? Please help.

Only supply the necessary documents for your spouse if you are claiming points in that area.

In other words, if you are claiming points for your spouse's education and/or employment, then you need to supply the evidence for that (ECA and diploma(s) in the case of education, work history letter and pay stubs in the case of employment).

In my case, I am not getting any points for my spouse's education nor their employment (my spouse does not have work experience in Canada so we cannot even get any points for that), so I do not need to do an ECA, job letter, etc. for my spouse. I plan on uploading a PDF in those areas saying simply: We are not claiming points in this area.

Assuming you're not claiming points for your spouse's work experience and educational credentials you can safely remove them from the work history and education sections respectively and add it only in the personal history section. The placeholders requiring for you to upload documents will disappear.

If document checklist is asking for spouse employment letters and PCC then you must upload. There is no option. Document checklist is customized and may vary with different applicants so no one but you only can understand and decide what docs are required. If upload page is asking for it, upload it.
After you receive ITA, you complete your e-APR form, submit it with required documents, get AOR (acknowledgement receipt), then after approx 10-12 days of AOR, you pass your medicals (in FSW) and then wait starts when IRCC checks all background info and documents uploaded by you. If they confirm that documents are ok, they will approve your application and email you for PPR (passport request). You send your passports as per directions in email, get passports stamped and get COPR letter with passport. Voila..!!

if you claimed points for your wife's education, you must provide eca and diploma/degree. If you did not claim points for her education, you must still upload her transcripts at the very least to match her education & personal history (according to a well reputed lawyer based in canada). If not, you must write and LOE as to why you cannot upload her transcripts and/or degree.

you MUST submit her pcc. Otherwise your application will be rejected outright. Not providing pcc/correct pcc is the #1 reason for rejections. Every accompanying member of your family over the age of 18 must provide a PCC where he/she resided for more than 6 months since turning 18.

Thank you Kotiks & DelPiero.

But, like I said, I am not sure of the flow of events. Do you happen to know the flow right after one gets an ITA?

Thank you. I get the importance of PCC. I will submit it.

To be honest, I haven't claimed for any points with her educational or work experience credentials, however I would still go ahead and upload the documents. It doesn't hurt to submit them anyways.

Exactly. Even if it is a little more work now, it will give you peace of mind down the road. All the best!

And I am surprised that I do get responses so prompt and relevant here. Tbh, I didn't know the responses would be this quick. :) Thank you all.

Hi experts! I feel a bit foolish asking this but I recently got to know that spouse work history is not mandatory for the pr application. I'm an oinp candidate and summbmitted mh application in march 2017 (aor - 17 march, Mep June 15).

What m worried about is that I could not submit the reference letters for all my husbands employers. He's worked in a total of 5 companies (in India) and we only have reference letters for 2 of them. For the remaining we provided a self declaration ( supported by pay slips, offer letters, appraisal letters, relieving letters, form 16s and itrs).

Now that m this far ahead in the process and ignorant as I were, I did not even share an LOE with cic to inform that I haven't claimed points for my husbands experience.

Now my question is at this stage does it make sense to remove my husbands work history from my profile? Or, it will be more advisable to share an loe via web form informing cic that m not claiming points for my husbands experience but submitted it since it was asked in the checklist?

Please reply experts....m worried sick!
