ok thanks.. btw is it possible that one of the spouses will apply singly and migrate to canada and later on take his spouse and kids there? so in that case the wife and the kids will have to apply as the primary applicant for immigration or they can move there on the basis of the canadian passport of the primary applicant?

No, you have to include your dependents in the application. They can be accompany or non accompanying and will have to complete medicals, and security/criminal background checks.
