Spouse work permit

My housband is a student for seneca college since jan2021and He started his course when we arrived in Canada, but the officer at the airport gave us a studey Permit based on the english language course, while the english language course was three months long and we were in Canada to start the main three-year course in international trade. After that, he was able to get sin number and part-time work permit by admitting to his college. Now, a year (two semester ) has passed since the beginning of his main course, but ircc do not issue a work permit for me. They said that i can’t work on the basis of a short language course. In my form is written ‘’ unless authorized prohibited from engaging in employment in canada. Would you please help me in my consider. What should i do ?? After one year we spent all of my saving and we can afford cost of living now, i have 2 childeren and need job and incom.

1. Correct you were not eligible for a SOWP while your spouse attended English language classes. Now that he is completed his ESL and attending regular classes, you now can apply for a SOWP>

Would add that OWP for spouses of international students isn’t guaranteed but you do now qualify for apply for an OWP. If you live close to a border I would try to flagpole and see if you can get a WP versus applying online and having to wait 4-6 months. You normally have to show that you have the extra funds to support yourselves even if you can’t find employment.

Would add that OWP for spouses of international students isn’t guaranteed but you do now qualify for apply for an OWP. Hi, I am in the same situation, my wife finished her ESL and now she is studying the diploma. I already applied for SOWP online, could I go to do flagpoling with an online application running?
